Sept 11, 2024: Hurricane Francine. No damage to Rancho Carribe. Only a brief power outage and minor street/ditch flooding.
July 9 2024: Hurricane Beryl. This category 1 hurricane landfall brought an extended power outage, minor to moderate home and roof damage, property and garage flooding, sign damage, and dune erosion to Rancho Carribe. Our gates were both damaged requiring significant repair, the walkover was blocked by storm surge debris, and a large amount of debris was scattered around our neighborhood. All peninsula businesses were closed and Hwy 87 was flooded in many places and blocked by debris between Gilcrest/High Island. Area recovery efforts continued until 7/12 to restore normalcy.
June 19 2024: Storm Surge Event. With exception of standing water mainly on the golf course and in ditches at capacity, we had storm surge debris at the walkover and on Casa Dr., Rancho Carribe fared well. No visible damage to homes.
